Rehabilitation Consultant & Accredited Exercise Physiologist - BHMSc, GradDipHSc(ExRehab), AEP, MESSA, MARPA

Merendi Leverett is our Director and founder of Merendi Health & Wellness.

Our tertiary qualified Exercise Physiologists are all accredited with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) and provide advice and exercise rehabilitation strategies to assist you in managing musculoskeletal injuries and/or chronic diseases including Type II Diabetes, Heart Disease, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Asthma, Cancer and Depression. Our Exercise Physiologists are trained in how to prescribe individualised exercise programs specific to your physical and functional needs. Kirstin White

Accredited Exercise Physiologist - BHMS, AEP, MESSA

Kirstin graduated in 2009 from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Human Movement Studies and has been working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist for Merendi Health & Wellness since September 2010.

Kirstin has worked with a wide range of populations whilst working as a personal trainer during her university studies. The types of populations she worked with include a wide range of chronic diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes, injury rehabilitation and healthy populations concerned with getting their life on a healthier level. Over the past 3 years Kirstin has also worked with elite rowers in the gym and with their rowing  to achieve their goal of selection into the Australian team.

She currently works with clients through schemes such as Medicare Australia, Department of Veteran Affairs, WorkCover Qld, private health funds and insurance companies based in the Brendale, Redcliffe and Caboolture areas. Kirstin has a particular interest in chronic diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes and injury rehabilitation, and has a great interest in nutrition and its effect on daily health and energy levels.

On a personal note Kirstin has been a member of the Qld rowing team since 2006 as a rower and most recently, and more successfully, as an coxswain. She loves being outdoors and has a particular love of being out west helping out on properties.

Christie Emsley

Accredited Pracitising Dietitian & Exercise Scientist - BHSc(Nutr&Diet)(Hons), BAppSc(HMS)(Hons)

Christie has completed a double degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and Human Movement Studies. She entered into the university course as a result of her passion for food, exercise and healthy living. Christie is certified by the Dietitians Association of Australia as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and a recognised Exercise Scientist (ES) with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).

As an APD Christie can:

  • undertake anthropometric assessments (height, weight and waist circumference)
  • evaluate and make recommendations regarding the nutritional quality of your diet
  • assist you in achieving your nutritional and health goals.

Christie works with a range of clients including:

  • chronic medical conditions under the Medicare EPHCP Scheme
  • Veterans Affairs who have heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and
  • Private/insurance.

She works predominantly with individuals in the areas of diabetes and weight loss. Christie also delivers Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus group nutrition education sessions. As a triathlete, she has particular interest in nutrition for exercise, sports training and competition.
